In this oil pastel piece, the mountains represent challenges over which the woman recently prevailed. She stretches for a moment in a beautiful field and savors the break. She enjoys a feeling of freedom in her body. Yet, the blue intensity of the mountain lives in her. The obstacles she overcame are now a part of who she is.

I do not use setting spray on my oil pastel work. The intensity of color and other details tend to muddy with the application of such things.

*However, in purchasing such an oil pastel work, you are receiving something with a medium that is still soft and smearable. I will do my very best to carefully ship it in a plastic sleeve and I will urge you as its new caretaker to only frame it with a mat around it, as this will ensure a gap between the artwork and the glass.

With careful handling, this artwork should last well beyond your lifetime. Understand that there may be variances in color and texture from the photo at hand and that it is very difficult to perfectly capture. I hope you enjoy this little piece of me.
